SAFE Joins the Fight Against Financial Fraud
SAFE’s fraud ambassadors and several credit unions attended the signing of a special proclamation from Governor McMaster and a full day of fraud prevention education led by SAFE Federal Credit Union Supervisory Committee Member, Chelsea Treboniak.
Senator Thomas Alexander was in attendance to formally sign the proclamation on behalf of Governor McMaster. The announcement formally declared the week of November 12 through November 18, 2023, as International Fraud Awareness Week.
“Your work to prevent fraud and protect your members is recognized and much appreciated,” said Senator Alexander. “Let’s team together to make the most of Fraud Awareness Week and commit to maintaining those efforts year-round.”
SAFE Federal Credit Union Supervisory Committee Member, Chelsea Treboniak added, “Regardless of asset size, status, or background—fraud affects us all. It’s incredible to see credit unions come together as a family with one mission: to combat fraud and safeguard our members.”
SAFE joins hundreds of Credit Unions nationwide to recognize International Fraud Awareness week. Activities include educational messaging across all digital and social media channels, a community shred event hosted in Camden, SC, and special fraud prevention giveaways available at all of SAFE’s 18 branches.
